Daniel Zagayer

Daniel Zagayer is a film director and cinematographer based in Los Angeles. A graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, he began his career in comedy, directing branded content and sketches for Funny or Die, Yahoo!, and Comedy Central, while studying improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade. His first feature script, Poker, was awarded Best Screenplay and earned him a scholarship to USC’s screenwriting program. He has directed and shot content for HBO Max, Discovery, Netflix, Hulu, CBS, National Geographic, History Channel, and the Travel Channel, filming in over 60 countries. Daniel has also produced and directed numerous short films, including the award-winning An Evening at the Diner, which premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre and was an official selection at Dances With Films. He is currently directing historical recreations for Hustlers, Gamblers, Crooks and The Expedition Files for Discovery and HBO Max, bringing a blend of classic film technique, documentary realism, and comedic timing to his performance-driven storytelling.
